A PASSENGER who failed to buy a tram ticket has been hit with a £428 court bill.
Xion Alexander Denny, 21, of Clough Avenue, Wilmslow, did not have a valid ticket to travel on a tram when requested by an inspector at Piccadilly on October 28, last year, Manchester Magistrates' Court heard.
Magistrates found a charge of entering a Greater Manchester Metrolink vehicle and station without a valid ticket proved after listening to the evidence on April 11.
Denny was fined £220 and ordered to pay £120 costs and £88 victim surcharge.
The defendant was given until May 9 to pay the £428 court penalty.
